Retailers may hate the internet, but they must adapt or decline. Great post, hits the nail on the head. I've been casually looking around for a bigger tv - saw a 60" LG at JB for $1900, was offered it for $1700, googled on the phone and found it for $1500. Thinking if I can get it for that price at a local store I will, otherwise the online store will clearly get the sale. Just need to research the TV a little more, I seem to recall hearing not-so-good things about LG TVs a few years ago and need to find out if that advice is still current. I really want any over 80 inches and I'd be happy but I dunno if they will ever be able to do it! End of Financial Year Sales! 6Jun 09, 2012 11:32 am I don't think they make anything over 65" in consumer plasmas. I know about the 100" professional range. I got my 65" panasonic 2D plasma 18 months ago for $2,280 with blu ray home theatre, I thought it was a great price bad then, it's still not expensive today as I could care less about 3D. Oh yeah, coincidently- we bought 4 of the 65" plasmas at one go at the above mentioned Harvey Norman store. T&T Go for Samsung or Panasonic over LG. In the past 3 years, I've purchased 8 panasonic plasmas for family and myself. All going well. To LG's defence, the problems with LGs plasmas were earlier models, regardless, the Panasonics have better quality picture and blacks. If you do buy a LG I'll recommend a 5 year extended warranty.
