Browse Forums Home Theatre & Automation 1 Jul 20, 2012 10:16 am Hi Guys, Can any one give me a reasonable idea of whether to go for a Epson ESTW6000 or ESTW9000 projector or Mitsubishi HC7800 projector ? The price point of the ESTW6000 is quite low comparing to the Mitsubishi HC7800 but I dont know the actual difference between them. can any one who know well about the difference share some thoughts and suggession. The throw distance of my room will be maximum of 4.4 meters from the screen. I'd like to have a screen size in between 100" - 120". Not a very big fan of 3D but nice to have to use occasionally. The 2D - High definition image quality must be excellent. please give me an idea. Re: Home Theatre Projectors Epson or Mitsubishi ? 2Jul 20, 2012 12:58 pm Hi airwolf, These websites are good resources when you are researching projectors, not sure if you've come across them before: http://www.projectorcentral.com/ http://www.projectorpeople.com/ I know the Epson ESTW9000 is one I have short listed for myself. However I won't be looking to purchase for another 12 months so I'm sure there will be new models available by then. The throw you are looking for is well inside the capabilities of both the TW6000 and TW9000. Also if you dont need the wireless feature you may want to consider the TW8000 from Epson also. Another consideration is the newly price reduced Benq W7000. If you are located in Melbourne find someone who has a few different model on display and go and see for yourself what you prefer. Cheers, Matt Re: Home Theatre Projectors Epson or Mitsubishi ? 5Jul 23, 2012 11:30 am Hi Matt, I did already ask for you help on the tw6000 previously in am email. I havent done anything yet because I red an article saying that the tw6000 is possible to bright for a dark room and desgned for a more ambient room. My situation is that I am aiming for a dark room not perfectly dark. Maybe some light leakage here and there but I do usually watch tv at night time, but currently My door into the room is a glass door (plan to get it replaced at some stage). Should I still be looking at the tw6000. Re: Home Theatre Projectors Epson or Mitsubishi ? 6Jul 25, 2012 9:17 pm In short ... absolutley. I have the TW6000 on display in several different environments and it performs in any light situation. You can always dim the picture down if it is too bright but a dim projector cannot be brightened up past its maximum. In our demo rooms we have the ability to have complete black, flourescent light and natural light and the TW6000 works in all perfectly. It is worth checking out for yourself if you have the time!
