my family and I are building in Point Cook and one of the features of our new home will be the home theatre.
Since we've been building I've been purchasing AV equipment to minimise the cost when we move in.
My question is will an installer instal my own gear?
We are getting the builder to pre-wire the theatre (7.1) and are having power points placed on the roof for projector and electric screen. The only items left for me to purchase are the actual projector and an AV receiver.
Any advice will be appreciated.
Still having the builder fix / complete things 2 years after moving in!

As a custom home theatre installer we would always like to install our own products as we are usually more familiar with the tweaks that are required to get the best out of the combined package...
...we also never walk away from any clients installation.
I would love to give you a quote on any parts (including your projector) that you still require.
If you would like to see some setups (including some jobs we have already done in Pt Cook) we would be happy to supply references plus some already happy members of the forum here!
With some careful planning now (making sure your gear "clicks") you will save a fortune down the track on those "little upgrades"...
Have you thought about pre-wiring for your projector. What about foxtel, television antenna, phone and ethernet requirements.
Will there be access later on to run these if required?

Hope this helps...
