Hi All,
The construction of our new home has come to a stage where i need to start thinking and finalising the wiring that is required to wire up our new home to have a centralised media area...
My Plan;
Is to run a 'media centre' which will have audio and video content, separate CD player, blu-ray player, amp, receiver and 2 fox decoders. I would like to have audio and (or) visual capabilities in the master, family room, alfresco, garage and the 'media centre' to be the home theatre room. I am unsure as to what system will best suited and not too expensive to cater for my needs... but I guess I can figure out and shop around for the right system at a later date, no?
I will be having 4 TV's and I would like each TV to have access to both fox decoders as well as the media centre and blu-ray player and I would like them to have their own remote controls to control these devices. I would also like to have the capabilities of each location to watch and listen to any component at any one time… is this capable?
What I am really after is an idea of what sort of cabling do i need to purchase and how many of them... ill work the lengths out of course... But how many cat 5 or cat 6 cables need to be run per TV/projector, would I need to run any RG6 cables? Also how will I connect up all the componentry to be controlled from a distant location?
Hope this makes sense
