However, my main concern is - as these speakers will sit on the wall behind us. What is the best way to run the cord/cable from the amp to the speakers. My husband said that he would need to cut into the wall to run the cables up into the ceiling, then run the cable in the roof cavity to the other wall. Then cut down this wall to the desired height. This sounds incredibly involved and messy. But, I would like the more visually appealling option. Is'nt there an easier way? Re: How to install bookshelf speakers on a brick wall??? 4Jul 07, 2011 4:35 pm Our speaker cables run through the wall behind the speaker, along inside the roof and back down the wall to the amp. You can't see the cables as they are covered by the mounting bracket for the speakers. Our speakers were designed to be wall mounted so the mounting plate hides things nicely. The wires fit easily down the wall cavity. Also, because they're mounted up high the wires didn't have to go down far, which makes it a lot easier. I have attached a pic I just took. Excuse the bad quality of it, I took it on my phone. In short, no. Not if you want the wires hidden inside the wall(s). And doing it inside a brick wall is mildly challenging at best...
