Browse Forums Home Theatre & Automation 1 Jun 23, 2011 1:29 pm Hi All, Just having a difficult time deciding on appropriate doors for the home theatre. Metal door frame for double 620 doors already installed. Anyone have suggestions or can show me theirs? Would of liked doors with glass panels but probably not good for theater as you don't want any light in? plan of house is in my thread. Cheers Re: Home Theatre doors 2Jul 23, 2011 5:03 pm What sort of look are you going for? I think Corinthian are offering some H/T doors now that are solid core. Re: Home Theatre doors 4Jul 23, 2011 5:28 pm Personally I think a pair of solid entry doors with some matching carpet (from the floor) stuck on and some weatherstripping at the base with do a great job. They do, the quote we got from PD was over 4k. Hi, Our Ht door is 920mm wide Solid build and comes from Corinthian. Cost was less than $1000. Is it possible to get the Doors done after handover, as I bel it will be alot cheaper than 4K ouch! Re: Home Theatre doors 8Aug 25, 2011 2:28 pm Wrexter have PMd you our doors we got from bunnings if you still looking. Re: Home Theatre doors 9Aug 25, 2011 10:06 pm I went to www.doorstore.com.au, they are in Vic, and quoted me $1k for a made to order lead lined sound proof door for my theater. The extra mass is essential for trapping all the lower base frequencies, but I wouldn't invest in a door like that unless you had sound proofed the theater room itself and decoupled it from the walls. When it comes time, I will probably do it, but the room itself was designed by an acoustic engineer, so for me it is worth it. If you have a regular room, then you could just go with any heavy solid core door my house blog: http://sugarloafdrivebuild.blogspot.com/ Re: Home Theatre doors 10Aug 26, 2011 12:08 am Thanks Toohey. But i just bought a normal internal door for the theatre, i didnt want glass as i didnt want lighting coming in. To be honest i didnt even think about it being soild for sound proofing. Also, didnt want to spend too much. Is that your theatre int he photo you pm'ed me, thats an awesome setup!
