Browse Forums Home Theatre & Automation 1 Mar 29, 2011 8:07 pm Hi all, I thought I would share my HT build that I have commeced. I am building on a budget and want to keep all cost to a minimum. I am starting this thread a bit late as I have already commenced work on the Room. Equipment I have thus far; EPSON TW4500 HD projector cost $2000 New Ebay Yamaha 2500 Receiver ($2000 5 years ago) but still has the goods Speakers Mains JV16's . kit speaker Base and surrounds are Crapy and I will replace down the track. When we built our house last year we changed the Formal lounge room to our HT room. We removed the window from the room and Filled the Walls with Soundscreen for a bit of sound proofing. The room is 4m x 4m x 9' ceiling. Pretty small but it will do the job just fine with a 100" screen. I have a plan in mind, a stage at the front and a raised seating area at the back. I am uploading the design as we speak and will attach soon. Whilst building the house I fully cat 6 cabled the place. 700m of it all up. I have dual cat 6 to each TV outlet in the house with HDMI extenders and Remotes. I have a 4x4 matrix running it all and it all seems to work ok. Ill add some more tomorrow and some pictures also. I am about 1/2 way through construction of the room and it is in working order. I built my own screen as the walls are currently olive colour. No way in the world I was paying 1000 odd dollars for a screen when I can make a home brew one. (i can hear some of you now but I say wait and see the result) more to come Rossdale Homes "Houghton" Sovereign specification Re: My Home Theatre build on a budget 2Mar 30, 2011 8:07 am I would like to network ready our place when we build. The twist of not knowing… 1 3476 Thank you so much everyone. This all makes a lot of sense. I guess when you talk to a builder who butters up everything to look very polished, you get to start believing… 7 17591 Can anyone recommend a good/affordable retaining wall and fence builder that I can get a quote from located in Sydney? 8 45795 |
