Your room will have almost the same dimensions as mine (8m x 5.46m). What speakers are you going to have?

I can't wait for it to be built. If you want to see the plans they are on my blog at http://sugarloafdrivebuild.blogspot.com Your room will have almost the same dimensions as mine (8m x 5.46m). Re: How many people in here have separate "Cinema Rooms" 42Apr 11, 2011 2:30 pm We have one, and as of yesterday it has only been used 1 day for the past month, and I personally haven't been in to 'use it' since new year's day. About the only room that has had less use is the guest bed room - though it may be because we have four other places to watch movies if we wanted without having to sit in the dark. This is the reason i dont think i will ever do one... We can sit in the family area to watch movies. If i am desperate in the future for a bigger screen rather than just a tv, i will install a projector that can be hidden. But i prefer having a playroom/boys room/gym/"anything room" rather than making it just a movie room Re: How many people in here have separate "Cinema Rooms" 44Apr 20, 2011 1:34 pm Veefy: I haven't decided on speakers yet. I have some Martin Logan Electrostatic panels that I love, but I think I want to keep them upstairs in my main room that I use to listen to music in. I don't think I'll be doing much music listening in the theater room - that seems to me to be something better suited for an upstairs living room. I also have a whole set of 7 Yamaha speakers - nothing fancy - just the front NS777s, the center channel & 4 x NS333's that my wife bought for me 7 years ago for my 30th birthday. I'm loathe to get rid of them because they were a gift, and also because we're doing the house build - I need to spend money in so many other speakers vs replacing what I've got. For the sub I'm using an Outlaw LFM-1, and for the amps I have 7 Outlook monoblock 2200's - one for each speaker. I don't have a projector or processor yet. I also have 6 clark synthesis transducers that I am bolting to each seat One view I have is that when you are building the house, you want to get the room right, because once the plaster is on the walls, it's very difficult to correct problems that were in the original design. On the other hand - it's very easy to swap out a speaker. If I were to buy brand new speakers now, I'd get a full set of the Klipsch THX Ultra2's. http://www.klipsch.com/na-en/products/t ... -overview/ I'll have to be careful to design my columns and wall cavities big enough for them in case I can talk my wife into those for my 40th ..David My home build blog: http://sugarloafdrivebuild.blogspot.com/ my house blog: http://sugarloafdrivebuild.blogspot.com/ Re: How many people in here have separate "Cinema Rooms" 45May 22, 2011 4:36 pm Love ours - I reckon we use it a minimum of 3 times per week with or without guests!!! Was definitely a pre-requisite when selecting a floorplan that suited us... it was one of the only floorplans that we could find at the time that had the HT room away from the kids bedrooms... not that we have kids yet... but we built this house to raise our future kids in!!! Sleven Moved into our Atlantique MkII 36 by Carlisle Homes Re: How many people in here have separate "Cinema Rooms" 46Jul 15, 2011 5:51 pm We managed to squeeze one in, even though I'm a huge movie fan, the HT had to be built to a budget, both dollars and space. The room is only 5.1 x 3.7 and we will be projecting onto the long wall. I've got a second hand 720p BenQ DLP which should hopefully throw 110" at full zoom from a 3.4m. Painted screen (maybe Goo) with black velvet masking, undecided on paint color, something dark, charcoal carpets. I've got an AVR & various source to feed it but no speakers yet. Will start with some half decent floor standing fronts and slowly add sub, centre and surrounds as finance allows. Surrounds will have to be ceiling mounted due to room size/orientation. Not as extravagant as some but it's our first home and we need to at least _try_ to keep things in check. Thank you so much for your response. I have drawn a pedestrian gate in - for curb appeal, let's see how much costs come in at. I think you're right - if we decide to… 2 6509 I would never build with Fowler homes. I built with them in 2021 and till date maintenance issues are pending.
