Browse Forums Home Theatre & Automation 1 Mar 09, 2011 11:40 am Hi all, does everyone have a dark ceiling colour for their home theater? It is obviously ideal to have it a darker colour other than white, but does every one's home theater room have a darker ceiling or if not, how have you found the white ceiling effect projector image? And what colour is it other than white? Any photos? I initially have put in to have a dark plum colour on our theater walls and now have the last chance or opportunity to change the ceiling from white if I decide... thanks Builder: Dennis Family Homes House: Hartley Facade: Provincial Suburb: Lyndhurst Moved in! http://cynash.blogspot.com Re: Ceiling colour? 2Mar 09, 2011 12:38 pm A dark ceiling is good, as a white ceiling will reflect the ambient light in the room plus some of the light bouncing of things like the screen (ie. the projected light), and reducing the amount of outside interference (like this light we talk of) hitting the image on the screen is always going to help get the best picture you can, however, today's projectors are brighter and have better contrast than they used to so if you really don't want to go to those lengths with the paint you will still get a fantastic picture from a projector/screen in a room with a white ceiling.
