Instead of provisioning for blank plates and draw strings,
has anyone gone through the path of getting CAT6 installed inside (fake?) removable skirting boards throughout the house (during the build), on a doulbe-storey home in particular ?
Office buildings are cabled this way.
I figured, with LAN cables going thru the skirting boards, it would be easy to add additional data points at any time (by an ACMA registered data cabler of course), or replace CAT6 with CAT50 or fiber optic 10-20 years from now, as technology improve, and the costs come down.
I'm talking about LAN cables in skirting boards only, not mixing it with electricity cables or RG6 (I plan to provision internet, phone, HDTV, printer, etc. on CAT6 when HDBaseT becomes available).
I searched in this forum, and over at Whirlpool, but could not find anyone who's done it successfully.
