Browse Forums Home Theatre & Automation 1 Dec 18, 2007 11:51 am Hi Guys.
Any of you currently working in AV installation, I would love to know what qualifications and carreer progression you guys had to get into the industry? I am currently working as an AV support Tech at a University in Canberra but will be moving to Brisbane shortly, and would love to get involved in AV installs, preferably Home Theatre. I currently dont have any formal qualifications. Is a cabler license the first step??? Are you guys qualified sparkies as well??? Any info would be great. Thanks, Chris Re: Job in AV Installation 2Dec 18, 2007 12:53 pm Adlante,
Your best bet would be to contact AV installers in QLD and I am sure with the boom in QLD you'll pick up a job no problems. Eventualy you should do some training as all cabling is comming under some sort of regulations. I used to run COAX through multi stories buildings for govt departments years ago, but these days I'd need licences, OH&S training, etc etc to even get near the place. I am sure hosues will be the same eventually This site will help you with some ideas on what you can do. http://www.ee-oz.com.au Good luck in your chosen career.
