Hi Everyone.
My wife Nic usually posts to this forum but in this case I'm asking the question.
At the moment I'm trying to design a simple home theatre setup with music streaming to the living areas of the house.
Rooms to have sound are:
1. Home theatre room (ie my room)
2. Family room & kitchen with speakers only for music
3. Outdoor entertainment area with speakers for music.
What I'm pursuing is the ability to pipe music to all 3 zones and control both the amp and music content remotely via an itouch or other device.
So far I'm seriously considering this amp from Yamaha http://www.yamahamusic.com.au/AVENTAGE/RXA2000/ which comes with an apple app to control it. Originally I thought about connecting an Apple TV (non-hdd model) to the amp and then controlling via the apple app but I need a network pc/NAS running Itunes to then serve up the music to the appletv and then control via the itouch app. I don't run any apple gear on my network apart from 2 ipod touches and I'm not keen to start to running any more of Mr Jobs gear as he always wants control.
So that leaves me in a quandry. Tonight I've been looking at the Squeezebox touch and was wondering if I could attach a usb drive to this and then control it by the after market apps that are available such as IPeng or Squeezemote. If I can avoid using a permanently on pc/nas, I'd be happy with that, and preferably just go with a connected drive but I'm not sure on what I can achieve or if there are other products out there that might do what I want.
So I'm looking for advice/tips and any thing else I should consider.
Thanks,
Pete
