Browse Forums Home Theatre & Automation 1 Feb 17, 2011 10:10 pm Im looking for a full HT setup that wont take over the room. Ive been reading a fair bit about the KEF KHT3005SE Home Theatre Speakers and i have seen these online for around $1600. I have also looked into the Paradigm MilleniaOne 5.0 System, although a little more expensive, i have read some great reviews. Does anyone have and experience with either set of speakers? Is there anything else i should add to the list? Im thinking about running this setup with the Onkyo TX-SR578 Amp. Any ideas where i can audition either speakers in Geelong/ Melbourne area? Whether you think that they sound good/are worth the money what people love about the Bose Lifestyle speakers is that they are so unobtrusive. I have been a long time fan of the Australian brand Krix http://www.krix.com.au I used Krix Atmospherix ceiling mounted speakers for surround in my old house. In my new house I am planning on using Atmospherix for surround and the new Tryptix wall mount speakers for the front/centre in my new house. This will stretch your $1600 budget a little bit though Paul Re: Looking for HT that wont dominate the room 4Feb 19, 2011 9:06 am Hi Cooky. That KEF system actually looks quite impressive on paper (depending on the price, of course), better than the Paradigm one so if it's cheaper then it's the clear winner. Regarding Bose Lifestyle systems: yes they have a small impact physically, but the problem is they also have a small impact sonically, so I fail to see what the point of buying them is (especially when they are so expensive)... Re: Looking for HT that wont dominate the room 5Feb 19, 2011 5:10 pm Thanks for your opinions guys, Is there anything else i should add to the list that you would recommend? Would be for Movies mostly I was looking at in-wall speakers but now going against it as i dont really want a "fixed" solution Definitely not interested in anything bose, but wanting a lifestyle solution. Is there anywhere in geelonng/ melb that i could audition the KEF or Paradigm? Hi team, Im looking for a second hand sd4b monitor preferably white. 0 7310 Really tight at the top of the stairs- how to get furniture into those rooms? Study books - does anyone really use them these days? Large storage closet would be more functional. 2 4662 Hi, I am looking into doing a KDR in Melbourne and am contemplating using Kialla Homes. I am looking for feedback on them from others who have built with them. 0 8159 |
