Two studs (the vertical ones, not to be confused with noggins which are the little horizontal ones...) are enough to screw the back plate of a typical plasma bracket to - as long as you get at least 2 good/long/big screws into each stud and they pull in nice and hard you have no reason to think it won't hold.
