Two studs (the vertical ones, not to be confused with noggins which are the little horizontal ones...) are enough to screw the back plate of a typical plasma bracket to - as long as you get at least 2 good/long/big screws into each stud and they pull in nice and hard you have no reason to think it won't hold. The height of the TV can be determined on the day you mount it - no biggie. Update from me! Couldn't find the trimmer - not sure if there isn't one simply because the eave is so narrow.
