Browse Forums Home Theatre & Automation Re: data cable perth 2Nov 24, 2010 6:27 am your cabler should have them. It is a legal requirement that network cabling ( if that's what you intend it used for) be installer by a registered cabler. If you source it for him/her they might not be happy about using it as they won't know the quality of the cable. Re: data cable perth 4Nov 24, 2010 8:20 am darn. can he suggest where to get it? or there is http://www.4cabling.com.au/ not in Perth though. http://www.jaycar.com.au/ jaycars used to sell it. Might not be the cheapest place to get it though. They used to have a shop in joondalup but its gone now I think. I remember getting one made up there once. And there was a computer shop in girrawheen that sold it made to any length you wanted. They might sell you full rolls. someone asked on whirlpool and got cat6 http://www.jaycar.com.au/productView.as ... BCATID=408 not the cheapest price though any electrical wholesaler, Jaycar/**** Smith/Altronics/etc will stock it, wholesalers in 305m rolls, the others in 100m. Check the thread here: http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/archive/1051662 a friend told me recently the only dicksmith that sells electronic bits and pieces these days is the one in balcatta. ( they were talking about electronic switches etc though) Re: data cable perth 5Nov 24, 2010 9:13 am cable you will get from a "computer" store will most likey not be the right type.... really don't know why your "mate" is making you buy the rolls of cable and such .. easier for thim to supply it to you at trade rates Kodiak Data Cabling onFaceBook Consult*, Design and Installation Data, TV, Home Theatre/ AV Cabling, Multi Room Audio, IP CCTV and Door Intercoms Ask for a Quote. *DIY DATA Cabling Is Ilegal Re: data cable perth 6Nov 24, 2010 9:19 am Humourous and so much anger. My mate is the electrical instrument tech/data communications technician at the minesite I work at where I am the network engineer. He does not do this outside of work normally and is just helping me out. Hence why I ask the question. Not sure why I feel the need to explain myself. Re: data cable perth 7Nov 24, 2010 11:05 am Forget Jaycar/ DSE/ Altronics then just go to an electrical wholesaler ask you mate what parts you need and then let him install it..making sure you get the right paper work from him Kodiak Data Cabling onFaceBook Consult*, Design and Installation Data, TV, Home Theatre/ AV Cabling, Multi Room Audio, IP CCTV and Door Intercoms Ask for a Quote. *DIY DATA Cabling Is Ilegal Re: data cable perth 8Nov 24, 2010 11:08 am Yep I do. It is trade price seeing as I am a cabler so it wont be much good to you. You could try Electrocraft in Belmont ,Paul is pretty cheap for cat5e don't think he carries cat6 though. Hope your "mate" gives you certification. Good luck.
