Browse Forums Home Theatre & Automation Re: iPad connectivity question 61Nov 19, 2010 9:51 pm oh you can too! (press the home button) I was scared I would stop the music. aaah ok, the gps won't work without the sim. that explains why the weather app I downloaded before couldn't work out where I was! Re: iPad connectivity question 62Nov 19, 2010 10:46 pm I have the TomTom app on my iPhone. Has saved me a few times, though where we're building hasn't been updated yet! Finally fixed my pc, so will be checking the site a bit more often than I had been. (Stuffed if I know where the wall plug is for my iPhone) Not sure if it works on the iPad, but Words with Friends is an addictive game, as is Fruit Ninja. Re: iPad connectivity question 63Nov 20, 2010 7:33 am ok will check out tomtom and those games, thanks! Re: iPad connectivity question 65Nov 20, 2010 6:40 pm Machiars Tomtom doesn't work on the iPad sorry. I more meant if you got the iPhone as your next upgrade. Plus it is easier to use in the car with an iPhone tomtom does work on the ipad if you have the wifi + 3G model as it has a GPS chip in it.. however the WiFi only one that u have donuts doesn't have the GPS chip. Re: iPad connectivity question 67Nov 21, 2010 2:45 pm I must say the iPhone is looking more and more attractive! I bet the apps are loads better than the samsung ones. Just on phones, does anyone know whether the samsung galaxy supports flash on the Internet? Re: iPad connectivity question 68Nov 21, 2010 3:43 pm donuts I must say the iPhone is looking more and more attractive! I bet the apps are loads better than the samsung ones. Just on phones, does anyone know whether the samsung galaxy supports flash on the Internet? yes you can use flash with android.. but to be honest I have never had a problem on my ipad or iphone.. it is pretty rare that I would come across something I can't use.. the only stuff that I use that is flash is youtube.. bu there is an app on the ipad and iphone that works with youtube. Re: iPad connectivity question 69Nov 21, 2010 3:59 pm Yeah fair enough, DH was trying to watching a video on the SBS website the other day though and he couldn't because he couldn't download flash... Don't think it was available on YouTube but I could ask him to check. Re: iPad connectivity question 71Nov 22, 2010 6:19 am Yeah I put all my tv shows and movies in itunes. I have 2 apple tv's.. one connected to the projector in the theatre and one on the small tv (plasma).. It then lets me use those shows on my ipad, iphone and both TV's.. they are 720p HD videos with 5.1 Dolby Digital sound that also have a 2.0 soundtrack so they work on the ipad/iphone. Re: iPad connectivity question 72Nov 22, 2010 8:15 am donuts Yeah fair enough, DH was trying to watching a video on the SBS website the other day though and he couldn't because he couldn't download flash... Don't think it was available on YouTube but I could ask him to check. god what is wrong with my emoticons?? I seem to always be pressing the wrong one on the ipad!!! I don't know what that one was supposed to be but it wasn't supposed to be a cry one. yes, the itunes is a big factor why I would want to get an iphone. BUT the shatterable screen is not, and I can always just use itunes on my ipad and laptop and ipod and use my phone for other things. yes the app store is good (well I believe it is; I hope it's better than the ipad one which hasn't impressed me very much yet) but it only encourages me to spend money... I was talking to someone who has a galaxy this morning and he said he prefers the music on the samsung because you can download stuff for free (off limewire etc) which you can't do on an iphone, which is attractive but doesn't outweigh the itunes user-friendliness for me. but the flash is a bit of a biggie... I play scrabble and what to wear on facebook and they both require flash... it would be great if I could play them from my phone too but I do like the iphone app that says where you are at on facebook...that would be cool. I think I need to make a list of pros and cons of each... "Your emotions are the slaves to your thoughts, and you are the slave to your emotions." — Elizabeth Gilbert Living in our new house. Point your iTunes to the folders, then next time you hit Sync it will copy across too. I haven't done it myself, but if you need more specific details I will look into it. Re: iPad connectivity question 74Nov 22, 2010 9:36 am oh cool thanks, I'll give it a try! Re: iPad connectivity question 75Nov 22, 2010 9:37 am you can certainly add files to itunes that you didn't purchase from itunes.. mp3's are compatible files with itunes, iphone and ipad. Re: iPad connectivity question 76Nov 22, 2010 9:42 am so do you reckon if I got a galaxy phone, I might be able to sync my ipad music up with it pretty easily? obviously I couldn't use itunes with it... Re: iPad connectivity question 78Nov 22, 2010 12:57 pm wow, clever!!! wonder what mounting is?? is that the term for breaking into the security codes or jailbreaking or whatever they call it maybe... thanks machiars ... swaying back towards the galaxy.... another benefit of the samsung is that my old phone is a samsung, so I don't have to completely learn a whole new phone, which took ages when I switched from Nokia... Currently scaping the land. Hey I just purchased an apple ipad to use on site. If you are using an ipad on site, I was wondering what you all are using for construction related apps to make site… 0 1643 You can really use anything you want the main consideration would be how it looks once painted/finished - or the look you want. Cabinetmakers use MDF because its cheap… 2 10197 I would say both styles you have pictured are steel.
