Re: iPad connectivity question 23Nov 18, 2010 9:40 am is it 3G + Wifi? It should say on the back of the box. Re: iPad connectivity question 24Nov 18, 2010 9:47 am I just had a look... it says this... MB292X/A iPad WI-FI 16GB-AUS so no 3G? what does this mean? it doesn't take a sim card? so I can only use it at home? (it also says Includes ipAd, DOck Connector to USB Cable, and 10W USB Power Adapter. Supports Wi-Fi (802.11a/b/g/n) and Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR) "Your emotions are the slaves to your thoughts, and you are the slave to your emotions." — Elizabeth Gilbert Living in our new house. Is still a great device though but you will have to sort out your wifi modem issues at home.
Re: iPad connectivity question 26Nov 18, 2010 12:41 pm yes I will, I might be calling out for help with that later "Your emotions are the slaves to your thoughts, and you are the slave to your emotions." — Elizabeth Gilbert Living in our new house. It seems to want me to download itunes. ok fine. so it's connected to my laptop now, I tried to open itunes on my laptop - hadn't done that in a while and it told me it couldn't find QuickTime so could I please uninstall itunes and install it again. so I've done that (probably losing all my music in the process ) so I really have nothing IN itunes to sync to the ipad. not sure what to do next... Re: iPad connectivity question 28Nov 18, 2010 9:58 pm You need to connect it to itunes to activate it before you can use it. So once itunes is installed it will activate and then it should pick up your wifi network automatically when you go to do anything on the net with it. You then type in your wifi password and you should be connected. Re: iPad connectivity question 29Nov 19, 2010 7:46 am thanks andy, I managed to do the itunes installation & sync, and it didn't lose any of my music yay! so it's working, and it's picking up our wifi connection but DH & I have both forgotten the password!!! anyone know how we can find it out? Re: iPad connectivity question 32Nov 19, 2010 8:37 am You need to type the I.P address (look into the manual) of the router in your browser to access your router and you should be able to access it and retrieve your password from there. Worst case, you still can reset your router to factory default settings and set it all up again so then you write the password down. Re: iPad connectivity question 33Nov 19, 2010 9:12 am or just type "cmd" in run and then type "ipconfig" into the cmd prompt. It will then say what your gateway is. That is your routers IP address. iPad connectivity question 34Nov 19, 2010 11:59 am Try putting this IP into Internet Explorer. 192.168.2.1 This is usually the default Router Ip for the model you have. I believe by default your router type has no password. So with luck that hasn't been changed. Click Submit. If this works on the lefthand side there should be a section that says wireless. With the wireless password most likely being in the "Channel and SSID" section. I'm on my phone so can't post a more informative post. If you need more detail bounce me a PM. Re: iPad connectivity question 35Nov 19, 2010 12:20 pm thanks guys... Machiars I just saw your pm before reading this post.. will hav a look hold on... Re: iPad connectivity question 36Nov 19, 2010 12:26 pm Hi Machiars, I've done what you said. Where it asked for a password, i pressed submit instead, it has come up with a whole lot of information but nothing that looks like a password... I'm confused... you think maybe I don't have a password to access my password, but I do need a password to access the internet?
