I can source the Rg6 and Cat 6 cables and possibly even run them. But i need someone to terminate them (an electrician). Anybody know anyone who is willing to do the job? Also is it difficult to become an electrician? I read that you need to first become an apprentice first. I wish there was a tafe course you could study for. Anyone has any ideas? Cheers for your help. You don't need to be a sparkie to do data cabling and unlike electrical licences you can get a data cablers licence without an apprenticeship. Search the net and you will find many companies that offer training courses for this. The one my employer used, many many years ago was JB Hunter Technology. Pity about the restricttions on an electrcians licence though. I would love to get one to be (legally) allowed to change power points, light switches, light fittings and appliances but alas not so easy in the ACT, despite having done an associate diploma in Electrinic engineering and 20 years experiance working in the telecomunications industry.
