Browse Forums Home Theatre & Automation 1 Oct 25, 2010 9:46 pm Hi dumb questions Im afraid Do you generally have the power point switch in adjacent joinery just running the end of the power cord to the TV as I imagine its too bulky to plug in behind Is it the usual thing to have 1 HDMI plug into the TV , leads back to an A/V receiver and blue ray /game consoles plug into the a/v receiver which controls the input switching??? Is there a HDMI plug wallplate or do you run cable thru a hole in the wall?? If I want free to air antennae plug do I need a seperate wall plate or is there one with a HDMI connector as well??? Does anyone know if there are any issues with wall hanging a samsung series 8 LED thanks MIke Mike 2/3 of the way thru the build Re: wall mounted TV s 2Nov 02, 2010 10:50 pm you cn get things like recessed power points and install behind the tv. this means that you can sit the tv flush as possible against the wall and the cords will also be hidden, and, best part wont leave the tv sticking out. Re: wall mounted TV s 3Nov 04, 2010 4:27 pm Hi MJAB, I was lucky as (in our current house) the "room" behind the TV was our understair closet which we used as a wiring closet. I used a plaster saw andround desk grommets to make holes to feed the cables out the back of the wall behind the TV into the closet, down the wall in the closet, then back out again to where the AV components etc. were. I'm the most non-DIY person there is and I found it easy :) You could probably do the same thing down the inside of the wall cavity if there aren't noggins in the way, although there may be legal/safety issues with doing this with power cables. Very quick and easy to do and do not have to remove any wiring. (have you got the Samsung wall mounting disks..... Cool stuff) http://www.recessedaustralia.com/ Call their distributer and they will tell you where to get them. Forget Bunnings as listed on their site as they no longer stock it. I need these for behind bedside tables in the master as it drives me insane all the crap that drops behind the tables as they have to be out from the wall to allow for the power plugs. Oh and plus for the tv's ... but DH will get more excited about that one. ~ trying to build our dream home by the sea ~ Hello everyone, I have a question regarding moving a chandelier after it has been mounted.
