I wanna stand in front of that with a guitar and strum a note and see what happens.. Re: My New AVdreams Home Demolition system :D 4Nov 21, 2007 6:26 am So what would everyone like to hear.
Some that I'd like to pop in and listen to include Pink Floyd - Dark Side of the Moon Vivaldi - Classical Some (not all) Luciano Pavarotti & Dame Joan Sutherland - Opera George Winston - Piano Soloist George Benson - Jazz Guitarist and I could download - Deep Purple - Smoke on the Water for some really good bass for Adrian to listen to Name your muze ? Because once I put a CD in - You'll hear it And then I'll have to hope for lots of sunshine to power it up Steve Re: My New AVdreams Home Demolition system :D 5Nov 21, 2007 8:39 am Yeeeaaaawwwweeeaaahhhh!!!!
I saw this picture a few years ago (I think I actually still have it somewhere). For me, anything from Bjork to Bullet For My Valentine, Diana Krall to Napalm Death. I had a Yanni DVD on last night (The Concert Event in DTS), vs having a Blind Guardian (German progressive metal giants) DVD on the other day. Both sounded awesome! Re: My New AVdreams Home Demolition system :D 6Nov 21, 2007 8:50 am I would love to hear a bit of Yanni - Live at the Acropolis.. great cd / DVD. I still have the Laserdisc of it ( Ican hear Matt and Rodd now.... )
Still it sounds great and I will be looking for the DVD of it in the future... http://www.cduniverse.com/productinfo.asp?pid=1000768 Gav & Vanessa Building In Melbourne (Sth East Suburbs) http://www.arkraider.blogspot.com/ Rawdon Hill Construction - Canterbury Heritage Re: My New AVdreams Home Demolition system :D 7Nov 21, 2007 10:41 am Hey GAV.
So far, no Yanni DVDs have been released here. I had to order all 3 of the ones I've got from the States (Amazon). They are: Live At The Acropolis (DD5.1) Tribute (DD5.1) The Concert Event (DTS) Worth doing while our $AU is very good against the $US... Re: My New AVdreams Home Demolition system :D 8Nov 21, 2007 8:24 pm Thanks Rod... I was thinking as much especially since Santa is coming soon...
The LD just cant do it any more visually.... although with the new amp and new projections system at some point in the near (well no that near) future.... it might look better than currently although doubt it.... But I will look OS and in my usual haunts over there also....friends in Baltimore.. Having watched many, many LDs at my dad's house (on his 120" 4:3 screen) I can tell you the difference between them and DVDs, I reckon, is like chalk and cheese. LDs are a lot closer to the resolution, and overall picture quality of VHS (crap!) than they are DVDs, and I personally don't enjoy watching them any more at all. Chuck in some good old 'laser rot' and I for one am glad I didn't get right into HT until after the DVD craze took off. DVDs, on the other hand, have a picture quality that when blown up to a 120" diagonal screen still looks awesome. I'm not looking forward to the day when I have to consider upgrading my 600 strong collection of DVDs to whatever the new level of tech is at the time and DVDs become redundant... (but I'll probably have them all as images on some sort of PC based storage device by then anyway)... Re: My New AVdreams Home Demolition system :D 10Nov 22, 2007 8:31 am 100% agree there Rod, watched a couple of them the other night, to reminiss. Very grainy, you forget after a while of not watching them, although I do still enjoy waching the original Star Wars Collectors on LD the sound is excellent but yeah the picture quality could be better, not as good as the new re digitally mastered version on DVD's....
