Re: Does size matter? HD True HD? 23Nov 17, 2007 9:52 pm No, no purchases yet. Thought we might wait for Boxing Day... see what we can get and shop around. Our house isn't finished so there's no rush (not that there would be anyway).
Good to compare prices... and it sounds like you got a good deal! In all seriousness, I don't care who I buy it from, I just want the best price and the right quality. Ray. Second Time 'Round Re: Does size matter? HD True HD? 24Nov 17, 2007 10:46 pm FionaL Did you happen to buy a TV yet? We just brought the same samsung one as you mentioned but we got the True HD. We got the price knocked down to $1600 at Retrovision.. Just FYI Fiona, You got a 1080p 40" lcd for $1600... are you sure? I am a samsung dealer and my cost is more than that! You may have got the Samsung LA40R81BDX or LA40S81BDX both of which are 1366x768. Just double check as the salesman may have told you a "half truth" Re: Does size matter? HD True HD? 26Nov 18, 2007 10:02 am FionaL OMG sorry, When i looked at the receipt i looked at the fridge price (receipt has a big list on it ) We paid $2400 1920x1080P LA40N81BDX.. Sound better? Let's hope you don't put the flat-panel TV into the fridge cavity and the fridge up on the wall. Thats better! Silly question when did you buy it? Can you take advantage of the free lcd offer i posted above?? Re: Does size matter? HD True HD? 30Nov 18, 2007 11:07 am Sure is....
Just make sure your invoice is dated the day you take the goods (you must claim within 2 weeks of your invoice date) and it is before the 15th of Jan (promo ending) and you will get a free 19" lcd TV!! Go you! Re: Does size matter? HD True HD? 31Nov 18, 2007 11:07 am That price sounds very similar to the price we saw at HN last weekend... still not bad.
After visiting the samsung website, I now know the difference between some of the models (all same size) and we have to decide if we go the basic model true HD, or the better true HD (better contrast). I don't really mind, but hubby might want the better model, so I may be able to do some spending of my own to make up the diff in price (that's onlt fair right? What he spends I spend? ). Ray. There are now 3 True HD Samsung models The N series The M series and the new F serioers that are 100hz and 2500:1 contrast ratio... I know and Matt (hubby) has got his eyes on the F series 46inch which comes with the 26inch LCD. His theory is that the free 19inch is far too small to be of use - it's the same size as our PC monitor. I think he needs to do a lot more begging (and bargaining with me - refer to previous post!) yet. P.S I think it's 25,000:1 contrast cos I remember thinking it was a lot more than the others. Ray. Second Time 'Round Re: Does size matter? HD True HD? 35Nov 18, 2007 5:18 pm Hey Matt, do Samsung come up with similar offers for Plasma's? LCD doesn't do it for me - sorry - we watch too much car racing and plasma is better for fast moving pics (at the moment).
We'd be interested in a 50" possibly. If anything comes up - can you please let me know? Thanks. Re: Does size matter? HD True HD? 36Nov 18, 2007 7:06 pm No do it yourself you lazy bugger!!!
Of course we will.... Hope you were behaved at my place today too My neighbours across the road were watching you! Re: Does size matter? HD True HD? 37Nov 18, 2007 8:18 pm Yes of course we behaved. My 3 yo was testing the acoustic properties of your garage though. The theatre looks nice, hubby is considering a step now. You are becoming a bad influence.
