Browse Forums Home Theatre & Automation 1 Aug 24, 2010 8:40 am I've been looking for a different way of displaying my home theatre system, and I wonder if anyone has used or come across this one? http://www.simpliform.com.au/305-system.htm It looks good, and I think it is available locally, but I haven't seen it around or heard anyone speak of it before. Any thoughts from those of you that know more than me about these things? Re: Home Theatre Shelving Units 2Aug 24, 2010 1:21 pm This is the modern look in Europe right now. Wall shelving and TV units mounted on the wall but offset with a presentable back board to hide any cables etc. It doesn't take too much space so leaves able space for your entertainment room furniture. From the looks of that site it is also highly configurable. Re: Home Theatre Shelving Units 3Aug 24, 2010 4:21 pm Yeah, it is the clean and simple, European styled look that I was after. Not sure how much "configuring" I would need after it was installed, but I guess it is nice to know it is possible if we ever needed it. Maybe if we wanted to change the backs to a different colour one day. I will see what else I can find out about them. Re: Home Theatre Shelving Units 5Aug 25, 2010 1:47 pm does anybody know if they are available in Perth anywhere? Which of course means that you have to do the installation and assembly yourself. I think depending on how handy you are you could probably manage it, but maybe find a local handyman to install if you're unsure. Their installation video seems easy enough for me to try it myself. Their web site doesn't say much about purchasing and shipping etc, but the guy I spoke with was helpful and explained it all. They just need the width of the unit (they make it to any width you want), the finish (I'm thinking American Oak) and the shelves (probably glass as they say glass shelves hold more weight than the timber, which is a shame as I would have liked American Oak shelves as well, but they only hold 20kg, whereas glass is 40kg). I will let you all know what I decide, as there doesn't seem to be much info on them anywhere else. But I guess they have explained everything I needed to know. Just need to part with the money now... Re: Home Theatre Shelving Units 7Aug 25, 2010 4:52 pm I quite like the unit - but I do struggle with having to pay extra shipment fees and not being able to see the product before I buy. Anyway if you decide to buy it let us know what you think about the quality. I hope not because you have mentioned them in every one of your posts Re: Home Theatre Shelving Units 9Sep 19, 2010 2:10 pm Hi Fu, No I don't work for them, and I have only made 4 posts on this site all on this same topic of a home theatre shelving system. So I guess it makes sense that all my posts would be about the same thing. I was hoping someone within your forum could shed more light on a good way to display my home theatre without cables showing etc, and your network provides a great resource to pool our knowledge and experiences, especially for newbies like me.
