I am not looking for a nightclub in my house, I am looking for a half decent volume that you can hear when people are talking loudly in the background. $400-$600 for 4 pairs of speakers + wire - sounds like you're looking at the $100 per pair range of speakers (which means you can only look at 'unbranded' ones on places like eBay).
