Browse Forums Home Theatre & Automation 1 Aug 13, 2010 3:31 pm HI Guys, Can anyone help me with a general cost of prices to have a 46 inch LCD TV wall mounted in our rumpus room above a new gas fireplace. It will be on an interior stud wall and we also want all other equipment (Foxtel box and Blue Ray Player) to be hidden - just so it all looks less cluttered and clean. We would want the surround sound to be installed also - we are re-doing the ceiling and wall plastering so the access would be easy while we are in the process of doing that work. There is also great access to the study - located behind the TV to put the equipment. This will be on the ground floor and i was wondering if it should be very expensive to link the upstairs tv and bedroom tv so that we can view foxtel from those as well? I am not in the least technically savvy so i hope i have explained this ok. Any help would be appreciated. Cheers Andrew Re: Help with prices for wall mounting TV. 2Aug 14, 2010 5:10 pm Hi there, I am not particularly handy, but if you can use a stud finder and a screw driver and drill, putting your own bracket up is not that difficult. You would simply need to run an HDMI cable from your blu-ray player and depending upon your Fox box, either a component cable or HDMI cable. Check out Ebay and other auctions (Grays etc, Deal of the Day) for good pricing on the brackets. JB Hi Fi and others will try to charge you about 200 dollars for something that should cost about 50-60 dollars. Of course, there are installers that will be happy to install for you, but you are probably talking in the hundreds to have that done (maybe less depending upon travel times etc). There are some reputable guys on her who will do the work for you. Hope that helps. Greg PS. Make sure that the LCD is not exposed to elevated temps from the fire. They don't like extremes of temperature. Re: Help with prices for wall mounting TV. 4Aug 16, 2010 12:11 pm probler looking at $50- 60 / hour for at least 2 hours...
