Ok, so I've got my cinema room set up, very happy with that...
We have fibre optic installed throughout the house, including into the cinema room, which we can get Foxtel to run throguh rather than via a dish on the roof.
I'm thinking of dropping foxtel, getting an apple tV ,and hooking it up to the internet via my airport extreme router, and just downloading series & movies etc from Itunes and other sources, and pumping them through my projector.
anybody done this? Was it a smooth change over, do you miss the 99% of **** on foxtel that you never watch? $80 a month for foxtel, or download a full series of what we like to watch for $30.
I'm aware ATV is only 720 at best, so my HD downloads / rentals wont be true HD, but will I really notice the difference?
Is there a place to watch current shows online / to download, as the wife loves watching those crappy shows on life etc.
We mainly watch the main FTA shows (7,9,10 abc etc), so wont miss too much, and wen dont have the sports on foxtel either. For me its a no brainer, provided Ican get the wife access to her shows.
