Hi,
I have been pouring over this website and any other that I can find regarding an in wall speaker setup for a rumpus room/home theatre room. Rodda...I have read alot of your posts and trust your opinion. so it is basically to you that I ask:
Room is 5.2m wide by 5.2 long. Flooring will be pollished concrete...but we will try and get some heavy rugs down on it. Standard ceiling hight of 2.4m.
I have looked into Boston acoustics (HSi models), Speakercraft (AIM ones), Niles, B&W's and paradigm's and have actually been swayed to paradigms. I'm currently getting quotes for paradigms in the following:
Centre (in wall) - CS -LCR $329 each
Fronts (in wall) - CS 160 $320 pair
Rears (in ceiling) - CS 60R $309 pair
also considering these in the AMS line
Centre (in wall) AMS LCR $599 each
Fronts (in wall) AMS 250 $729 pair
Rears (in ceiling) CS 60R $309 pair
My question(s) is......
Is this a credible mix for a 5.1 setup (separate active subwoofer)?
Should I ditch the LCR speakers and get a third speaker similar to the other two fronts?
Is there any other brads/models I should consider that are comparable for $1,000?
Thanks heaps.
