Browse Forums Home Theatre & Automation 1 Jun 04, 2010 9:28 am Hi, We are doing a major reno on our house and would like to have a home theatre system in the lounge room with wall and in ceiling speakers. We would also like to have in ceiling speakers in the rumpus (other end of the house) to listen to same or different music as the lounge room. We are wanting to spend $5-6K for the A/V receiver, speakers/subwoofer and amplifier. So far we have a quote of $5.5K for: 1. Yamaha RX-V3900 AV receiver 2. Sib & Co (Cub 2 + Sib wall mounted speakers 3. 1 pair of Focal Chorus IC 706V 4. 1 pair of basic (?brand) in ceiling speakers for lounge (I think it was ~$300 pair) Is this a reasonable quote (installation included)? Is this a reasonable set-up? Are there any alternatives we should consider? Also is the price quoted for the original set-up reasonable? We already paid for somfy motors for the blinds. The quote above was purely for “pre-wiring” so the blinds company can install the motors and blinds. That’s why we… 5 16289 Once you know the basics, the rest is easy. The cost/benefit of wired setups for the house are no longer what they used to be. Lots of wireless options. Eufy, Arlo and… 2 9797 |
