Browse Forums Home Theatre & Automation 1 May 18, 2010 1:49 pm Hi all, We forgot to add a junction box to the Home theatre room with the builder. So all we have now is a light bayonet in the centre of the room that can be controlled by a dimmer switch which we have included. What are our lighting options now? Can a sparky still install downlights??? What I would ideally like is for our dimmer switch to control about 4 - 6 downlights...is this possile without tooo much work for a sparky? If not, then what other types of lights can we install 'easily' thru a sparky??? Did it that way so we wouldn't have to replaster & repaint the ceiling. In the HT we're building the builder is putting 3 lights down the centre, we'll add another 3 on either side for a total of 9 on 2 different dimmer switches. I'm trying to steer away from downlights due to being inefficient and essentially just holes in the ceiling to wall lights on the sides that shoot up against the wall. I'm thinking two on each side and possibly two either side of the screen - all on dimmers of course. Possibly have them automated as well with different scenes.
