I want to do a basic automation within 3 rooms 1 X Theatre 1 x Living 1 x Bedroom 1 What I would really like to do is have all AV Equipment in the Theatre room and wire to other Tvs in the house. I want to work with the equipment I have and some of the equipment i am considering buying. Some of the stuff is a few years old and this may hold us back. I really am looking for advice on what I need to purchase or request of my builders sparky. Builder is helpful and is happy for us to do whats required at frame stage. I will work through the rooms 1 by 1. Home Theatre 1 x Wall Mounted Sony KDL46WE5 LCD HD TV (4 x HDMI) 1 X Sony Receiver/Amp Model STR DB795 5.1 (NO HDMI) 1 X Sony Bluray S360 (HDMI) 1 X Sony Hardisk/DVD Model RDRHX710 (NO HDMI) 1 X Sony Digital Box Model DST HD500 (HDMI) 1 X Sony Ps2 Slim (No HDMI) 1 X Sony Speakers Floor Standing with Subwoofer Things under consideration TIVO Sony Ps3 Objective = Wall mount LCD with Power and Multiple 4 x HDMI Cables (in wall) Speaker Cable in wall to corners and wall plates installed for easy connection of speakers. Centre speaker wall hung DVD/HARDISK + BLURAY Connected to LCD in theatre + Plasma Panel in Living = LCD in Bedroom 1 If TIVO is purchased Connection to Plasma in Living + LCD in bedroom 1 is required. PS2 Connection to LCD In theatre. Bedroom 1 1 X Wall Mounted Sony KDL22S5700 LCD TV (HDMI) Objective = Wall Mount LCD With power Have connection/feed for picture and sound from DVD/HARD DISK + BLURAY + POSSIBLY TIVO to Bedroom 1 LCD Living 1 X Wall Mounted Sony PFM42V1 42 INCH PLASMA PANEL (NO BUILT IN TURNER) (NO HDMI) Speakers Connected (Mount on plasma) Main cable VGA @ Panel to RGB Objective = Use Plasma Panel In Living area with HD BOX/DVD/BLURAY and maybe TIVO signal from Theatre room. Wall plate at floor level to enable connection on PS2/PS3 from time to time. Remote Control IR Remote to enable DVD/BLURAY + + to be used/controlled from other rooms. This will allow you to control your receiver through your tv with your tv remote if connected with HDMI. It is something that seems possible but I have yet to find an answer as to how effective it is. What can and cannot be controlled is not defined on the Sony web site, and I can see that not EVERY possibility could be covered, but I am unsure. If someone has this feature I would love to know their experience. More worried about connecting the Plasma to DVD/Blu ray + Digital Box in the other room. Thats an answer I hope to get.
