Browse Forums Home Theatre & Automation 1 Apr 06, 2010 10:20 pm Hey guys, I've recently purchased a Denon AVR-2310 Amplifier; however, I have no speakers. I've set myself a budget of $2000.00 AUD for the fronts to accompany the amp. Mostly i'll be listening to music; however, there'll be a bit of movie action going on as well. Any suggestions? I'll be looking at doing the rest of speakers at a later date, but the fronts are the most important to me at the moment. Cheers, big red Re: Front Speakers Suggestions 2Apr 07, 2010 12:06 am Hi Bigred. As I am a Paradigm fan, I would recommend the Monitor 9's, or you could look at the Monitor Audio RX6's. http://www.monitoraudio.co.uk/products/silver-rx/rx6/your-speaker http://www.paradigm.com/en/paradigm/fronts-monitor-monitor9-model-2-4-1-18.paradigm Cheers Gareth Re: Front Speakers Suggestions 3Apr 07, 2010 11:01 am Ditto on the Paradigm Monitor 9's. (I myself am a Monitor 11 man, but at RRP $2899 (AU) I think that pushed them out of your reach, sorry...). The Paradigm Monitor range is recongnised around the world as being magnificent value for money - they out perform more expensive speakers, even many of our local ones that cost more... RRP for the Monitor 9's is $2199 (AU), however I'm sure they can be obtained for less PM sent... Re: Front Speakers Suggestions 5Apr 07, 2010 8:16 pm Yeah, the Paradigm 9s or 11s were my first thought as well lads. My alternatives were the Dali Concept 10s as well. I know these can be obtained for around the $2000 mark. Rodda: I'm prepared to dig a bit deeper for the Paradigm 11s. My concern here though, is if I got the P11s, then I'll end up forking out just as much for the remaining speakers. Then I'll sit and realise i've spent $10,000.00 just to listen to Bruce Springsteen/Pink Floyd. Heh, I may have just convinced myself! Re: Front Speakers Suggestions 6Apr 07, 2010 10:14 pm I am also keen on the Monitor 11's, but the OP gave a budget. Also, wouldn't the Denon be a little under specked power wise for the Monitor 11's? Hey Rodda, I think we should chat about a small com here? Re: Front Speakers Suggestions 7Apr 07, 2010 11:40 pm Firstly, the "OP" is bigred. You can use my name mate Moving forward, my research suggests the Denon AVR-2310 is not under spec'd for the Paradigm Monitor 11s; however, my research usually begins after a 6 pack so I could be wrong here. Cheers, bigred Re: Front Speakers Suggestions 8Apr 08, 2010 12:16 am My understanding of "OP" is original poster, which I believe is yourself so I am not sure what the confusion is here. I think the Denon can be bi-amped so you are able to run significantly larger fronts if you so wish. If you really want to get fancy, a pair of Studio 100's would sound pretty good, or even the Studio 60's This is contradictory to my first post, but I didn't think of the bi-amping option. Re: Front Speakers Suggestions 9Apr 11, 2010 8:05 pm The Studio series would be well and truly out of the op's budget. IMO the Dali Ikon 7's would be impossible to beat for the street price of $1650. Were a def step up from the Monitor Audio RS6's and Monitor series (again only my opinion:) Re: Front Speakers Suggestions 10Apr 12, 2010 12:47 pm I can vouch for the Monitor 11's as I have recently set up a pair with a cc290 centre and ADP190 surrounds....I love it and they have not even been broken in yet!!!
