Browse Forums Home Theatre & Automation 1 Mar 26, 2010 6:35 pm Howdy I have a very strange problem and have yet received an answer. Here in RSA we have pay DSTV via multichoice (the equivalent of Foxtel I think) The problem is that I cannot get MCE (windows 7 64bit ultimate) to change my the channels on my stb. I have the hex codes for the stb remote. It is a dualview PVR The million dollar question: Is there a way to import, program, teach windows the codes of my stb? When they design the OS's how do the encode the stb codes into windows? I am hoping to get this sorted as I am really wanting to get back into the whole HTPC thing again. BTW I have posted at the local Ausie media center forum. Cheers Gareth Re: Windows 7 HTPC question 2Mar 29, 2010 1:05 pm Hi Gareth. Not sure which process or tool(s) you are using for learning the codes and trying to control the channel change on the STB (eg. the original MS MCE Remote has a couple of buttons you can program to control other devices). I can tell you, however, that here in Aus our Foxtel IR codes/frequency band does not play well with others - IR repeating systems etc. often have problems with Foxtel when they are perfectly fine with pretty much everything else... Does any of this info help: http://www.byremote.com.au/Hip/mce_remote_faq.htm Re: Windows 7 HTPC question 3Mar 29, 2010 7:32 pm Hi Rod Thanks for the reply. Thanks for the link, I will read through it and report back Cheers Gareth Personally, considering your layout (study/work desks in bedrooms), I don't think you have any other option but to leave NW windows and make them as big as possible e.g.… 7 10483 Hi, I'm planning to build a new house and wanted to get some feedback on the different window designs for a master bedroom.
