Browse Forums Home Theatre & Automation 1 Feb 05, 2010 1:33 pm Hi Everyone, This is my first post here, and I kind of feel bad to start with a question instead of a tip or an advise to someone I’m building a new house and would like to smart wire the house myself and make it a future proof as possible as I don’t tend to move out of it (I hope so). I’m undertaking a restricted registration course from JB Hunter Technology and applying for a license from TITAB Australia Cabler Registry Services. I have knowledge about all different cable types, connections, video and audio formats. But my weak points are in design ideas. My first question is do I really need to consider feeding every room/location with an HD signal in mind? Wouldn’t it be cheaper if I purchase the HD player and place it in the room instead of running two cat5e cables and using two baluns? Or is it for things like outdoor TV or HD Foxtel? Thanks in advance. But you are left with only 1 pair, how would you transmit the stereo signal then? Or you mean a media centre system, and clients accessing via IP. If you mean the former, then the answer would be no need for HDMI, right? But I think I need to worry about what type of enclosure and how I place the big bunch of cables in that area. I mean do I need to install the enclosure so I allocate extra studs for it? Do I tight all cables together and leave behind the plaster wall? I really appreciate your time in this Re: I'm confident of doing it, but need ideas please 6Feb 05, 2010 5:26 pm call me ..
