Browse Forums Home Theatre & Automation 1 Dec 13, 2009 2:16 pm I am soon to be building a house in Berri, South Australia, and would really like to set up an audio visual system that would allow us to do the following things: - listen to sound throughout the house and outdoor area from the computer, i-pod or television. - view Austar, digital TV and DVDs throughout the house and outdoor area from a central location in the lounge room - stream from the computer to any of those TVs Could someone give me a ball park figure (I have absolutely no idea!) on what something like that might cost, and perhaps a suggestion of what companies do that type of thing in my area? Also, is there something I'm missing here that would make this easier/cheaper? Re: Home Audio Visual System 2Dec 14, 2009 7:09 am Sorry mate, too many variables to just come up with a simple guesstimate... eg. unless you plan on cobbling together a rough 'bitsa' system of cheap components thrown together I reckon you can't expect much change out of $10K (although this figure could reduce depending on how many rooms/zones you want). What you need is a proper quote from someone who can design and install such a system. I am not familiar with anyone who could do this in S.A. Re: Home Audio Visual System 3Dec 29, 2009 9:52 am I agree with rodda no one can really give you a quote with out seeing plans and also sitting down and having a consult with you.. and to be honest in and around the berri area you won't have too many options ... you will need to look at adelaide as your next port of call and see soem f the specilist installers or a couple fo guys who do this.... Again though leave it to the pro's Point 3 Im not into streaming from PC (or HTPC set ups) so cant help there. Cost yes 10k give or take would be my guess We already paid for somfy motors for the blinds. The quote above was purely for “pre-wiring” so the blinds company can install the motors and blinds. The cost/benefit of wired setups for the house are no longer what they used to be. Lots of wireless options. Eufy, Arlo and… 2 9780 |
