(I only knew about it because I research everything within an inch of its life. ) I'd imagine they'd be pretty upset not knowing this ahead of time. Ethernet wiring is a simple one -- I've ordered 7 RJ45 connections to be deployed by my builder at the time they do electricals. All leads will be terminated to a linen area where a switch will be deployed. I've estimated to total cabling (for 7 cables) will be around 150 metres. Considering they have charged me $100 per point -- I believe it is bargain. TV antenna sockets costed us $80 each. Sound Wiring for 8 speakers and two zones was another $500 or so... Unfortunately in estates where Telstra Velocity has been used, you have no choice but to go with Telstra. No other service provider has a plan for fiber optic cable. Telstra blocks sale of houses. THOUSANDS of new houses will be delayed from coming onto the market, and will cost up to $3000 more, because of a sudden decision by Telstra to stop installing copper phone lines, large developers warn. Telstra has told developers it has immediately ceased installing copper phone connections in greenfields developments due to a federal government requirement for fibre optic cable in new housing from July 1... If we were to choose this package, does this mean you do not require to have tv points inserted with builder?? Or do we require both?? Hope someone can help.. Laney. No you shouldn't need TV points through builder as the smart people will put them in.. we got conduit put in where we were having everything to make it easier for them. But they can do that as well especially if you get one who can gain access during the build.
