any thoughts on these? I have 3 specific applications. 1) home theatre rears. The cable is prewired, but only in ceiling. So for a wall mount they would have to be high up the wall near cornice. (Solid brick walls) 2) Easy listening speakers in a main bedrooom. Same thing I have run wire in roof but wall is solid brick. 3) Alfresco, wires in roof but have the ability to use cavity external brick wall to mount them down the wall. or would plain old point down ceiling mounts be the go for these applications? Any thoughts? Cheers Re: Wall mounted, floor mounted or ceiling mounted speakers 2Jun 06, 2007 8:02 am Hi
I am running a pear of Jensen EHT4 Flushmount oval speakers for my rears, They have an angled cone, so the sound comes out on a 40 degree angle, rather than straight to the floor. installation was simple and the sound is great. The other good thing is that when you look in the room from other rooms, you do not notice them. Great sound, nicely balanced, and not expensive (Paid $200 pair) Have a look Here. 2 words.. In ceiling .. There are awesome speakers out there now including paradigm, jamo, boston, elan etc who all make great in ceiling speakers. My last home theatre consisted of all in ceiling speakers and I loved them. Spend a few $$$ and dont go below 6 1/2" diamemter cones and you will be fine!
