Also what cables would I need to run behind the wall from the TV to the ententainment unit below. Any help would be appreciated. Re: Plasma on the wall 2Jul 13, 2009 9:28 am Cant help you with the recommended height. I sticky taped paper together making the size of the TV and moved it up and down until I was happy with it. The top ended up at around 1750mm from memory. As far as cables, you need to look at what outputs and inputs your equipment has and which you want to use. There are generally lots of options based upon your equipment. For instance, a multimedia PC can connect to a TV with an HDMI cable, or a DVI cable and 3.5mm stereo cable. The choice will depend on what the PC can output and TV can input. Foxtel / DVD players / WIIs and older games systems can be run with RCA (yellow/white/red) cables. Run multiple cables and use the AV switcher inbuilt to the TV or use a switchbox next to your equipment and run 1 cable. Newer game systems/blueray players etc. HDMI will be required. The best way to do it is get a piece of blank paper, work out the inputs and outputs of each device you wish to connect. Place the TV in the centre, and the other equipment around it, then figure out the best combination of cables. Include future equipment also to save you running more cables. To give an idea, I ran 1 x HDMI, 1 x RCA (used a switchbox next to equipment), 1 x Co-ax (for control of foxtel IQ box via multiroom unit), 1 x 3.5 mm stereo cable If you post more details about what you wish to connect, it will be easier to provide advice. I have a 37inch with a similar placement (even same couch )to the one shown in the picture at my house. It is this high because we generally view it from 6-8m (twice the couch distance) back near the kitchen bench area. I ran a power point, antennae and a CAT5 connection to there. I have a computer situated beneath it. It is a little high for normal sitting on the couch, but if you are just lazing back with a beer and the feet up, its not so bad Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Re: Plasma on the wall 5Jul 14, 2009 9:24 pm You may get a better response in the Home theatre forum.... ***moved*** Thank you again Simeon..
