Browse Forums Home Theatre & Automation 1 Jun 28, 2009 10:21 am Good morning Rodda. Okay straight to the point. My room is 4.3m wide x 5m long and 2.8m high. It has a 2.4 x 1.5 window to the back which will have a roller shutter to block out light as well heavy curtains with only one standard door opening into the room. I'm planning to use an LCD projector (possibly Mit's 7000), 110' inch fixed screen and running most gear through a Pioneer LX 81 series receiver. My budget is around the 11K so I'd like to incorp a HD set top with recorder, Foxtel etc and I'm building at Wallan. Q. Would you suggest something better than the M7000 projector and the Pioneer LX81. I'm currently about to build so I'll be having it pre-wired as well. Your thoughts please on the above and anything else you might think I should consider PD Hayman 34 H1 Thread https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=29460&start=0 Blog http://miazfolly.blogspot.com Tiles 25/3/09 Colors 6/4/09 Tender 7/5/09 Contract 28/5/09 Land 16/11/09 Re: Yet another new installation 2Jun 29, 2009 10:28 am Hi mate. That gear is cool - I think you will need to go LCD projection for a 110" screen in a room that long (good screen choice for that room too), and the HC7000 is a decent one at that. You obviously like Pioneer, but in saying that the SCLX81 looks like a really nice high end 'all-in-one' AVR with heaps of leading edge features. You said you had a budget of $11K... I take it you already have your speakers then? (as the projector, screen and AVR will use up pretty much all of that budget...). Re: Yet another new installation 3Jun 29, 2009 1:45 pm I indeed have my speakers and thank you for the heads up Rod. I have still yet to buy the AVR and open to suggestions but not sure if there is anything around the $3k mark to better the SCLX81 7.1 Pioneer (I'll probably regret putting that last bit in), however I'm sure there is someone who'll prove me wrong, hence the reason we have forum's...lol Thanks again and happy sales Rod.
