Browse Forums Home Theatre & Automation 1 Jun 27, 2009 8:56 am As the heading says. Anyone know of a cabler based in or near Bunbury? I want to get our new place cabled up. Not interested in a a wireless solution. Conduits with draw wires have already been installed. (( builder wouldn't allow network cabling to be installed and wouldn't offer it much to my frustration so this was the best I could do) 4 runs of 2 cables each. Distances from ceiling to ceiling not from end of conduit to end of conduit as follows: so approx another 2.3 m on each end to run down conduit. Office to games- 8.6 m Office to activity- 8.7 m Office to lounge- 6 m Office to bedroom 1- 13.8 m Re: Anyone know a cabler near/in Bunbury WA? 2Jun 29, 2009 3:42 pm Hi Kexkez, Only thing I can think of off the top of my head would be LiveWire? I am doing something similar to your setup. The office will have 4 incoming data cables from the kitchen, family, home theatre and games. Cost was faily steep at $1595 but that also included 2 phone points in the study. Re: Anyone know a cabler near/in Bunbury WA? 7Jul 04, 2009 6:43 pm after discussion with hubby we are now putting 4 points in the games room. and only 1 in the lounge. ( that's moving one of the ones from the lounge to games and adding one extra that the cabler will find out about tomorrow. so that's a total of 9 points coming back into the office. I'm sure that will be fine as we'd already discussed how to manage them. We will be using one of the ones in the games room as an additional mains phone line point. for the original quote which included about 120 m of cable we were looking at $600. ( now you see why I was keen to say yes to the cabler as I think this is a great price) obviously it will be more now with one additional line and the other line being longer. Additional thoughts/work to be discussed with the cabler tomorrow. The guys he works for do a lot of voip work for businesses so he's already clued up on voip and extending mains phones and from our discussion and emails hopefully it will go well tomorrow. Re: Anyone know a cabler near/in Bunbury WA? 8Jul 05, 2009 4:05 pm Well the guy is there now. I've just dashed home to check on the kids. ten points for 620 plus some short patch cables as well. ...................................... well just over an 8 1/2 hour day for the cabler. We've ended up with a couple of the box ends not sure what they are called but the little boxes in the plaster were a bit bent out of shape in 3 spots for for the bigger points ends we used those. plasterers had stuffed concrete and plaster down several of he conduits so there was quite a bit of work involved in unblocking 3 of them. Anyway all up he charged us $630 including 4 extra cabled for the patch panel and a extension cable thing ( phone) to add an extension to the phone so it could be switched through to any of the network points. It's all labeled and comes with 12 month guarantee and he's sending me through some extra paperwork etc. He worked solidly all day, brought his own sandwiches and I made a few cuppas. he also cleaned up thoroughly and vacuumed etc where he'd worked when finished. Very professional. I paid him $650 An absolutely bargain. Brilliant Job. ( fingers crossed it all works when I get to try it out on Tuesday) Our standard double-glazed window is tested to achieve, Rw 34, and can be glazed to suit Rw 39.
