I'm currently fine-tuning the design our my single-storey house and planning to achieve a sound-resistant solution for my cosy 4.5m by 4m by 2.7m (h) theatre room. I've read the Gyprock level 1 brochure and wondering if that's sufficient or are there any other products available. I mentioned 'sound-resistant' as I'm on a modest budget and not sure if a total soundproofing solution would be within my reach. Sticking egg cartons on the walls is out of the question, of course
I'll be carpeting the floor but I might have to skip doing anything special for the ceiling, i.e I'm thinking walls only. Is there any ball-park figure I should set aside to achieve this?
I currently have a 5.1 speaker system which is about 650W RMS so I doubt there'll be enough 'doof doof' to register anything on the Richter scale.
