Browse Forums Home Theatre & Automation 1 Jun 21, 2009 4:46 pm Hi guys, First post on this forum I'm sure you'll be seeing more of me around. I'm new to all this building stuff, so be gentle Just started talking to the guys down at Henley and I've been thinking about the cabling throughout the house. 1. Would it be better to let Henley handle the extra data cabling/tv cabling, or to call out my own guy to come do it all later on/during the building process? Do builders generally allow me to call out my own people? 2. I've heard that for wall mounts it's best to have some kind of power socket behind the mounted TV, is this the same with the antenna? 3. Any recommendations of companies/people you know of who can do tv/speaker/data cabling? Cheers! Re: New house! 3Jun 21, 2009 5:05 pm Hey there, nice blog you got going there. It was a tossup between the Lexington and the Monterey 383, kind of leaning towards the Lexington at this point. Still not 100% sure until we see how much it's all going to cost! Re: New house! 4Jun 21, 2009 5:10 pm Two very nice homes. We REALLY liked the Monterey, but because our block runs east/west we needed a layout with the entertaining on the side so it faces north. We have some neighbours due to move into their Monterey in the next week or so, very envious! My husband is going to attempt to do the wiring for our surround sound etc during the build, just hoping we have a nice SS who will accomodate us doing this ourselves. Re: New house! 5Jun 21, 2009 5:11 pm before you sign contracts sort out detaisl like third party tradies. IMO as a data cabler it is always best to install while building and easier and cheaper.... a retro fit can easily cost twice as much as new build. if you don't like their tradie options ask for conduits to be installed and you will organise them post hand over Kodiak Data Cabling onFaceBook Consult*, Design and Installation Data, TV, Home Theatre/ AV Cabling, Multi Room Audio, IP CCTV and Door Intercoms Ask for a Quote. *DIY DATA Cabling Is Ilegal Re: New house! 6Jun 21, 2009 5:13 pm aaron4erin Two very nice homes. HT wirring no drams for your hubby to do as long as he knows what types of cables to install, data/ phone points needs to be done by a data cabler < employa one stop guy who will have assiatnce frm your hubby with al the cabling so nothing is forgotten Kodiak Data Cabling onFaceBook Consult*, Design and Installation Data, TV, Home Theatre/ AV Cabling, Multi Room Audio, IP CCTV and Door Intercoms Ask for a Quote. *DIY DATA Cabling Is Ilegal Yes well there solution is to blame everyone else while I a 65yr old woman with major medical problems have to just continue to boil water and wash myself in a bucket… 2 15984 If you make sure all taps inside and out are turned off, what does the water meter show if you leave it for a while. 2 20228 13 6602 |
