Gday guys,
I was wondering what the advantages of bi-wiring speakers are?
I have heard mixed reviews about it, and am not sure if I should go ahead and buy extra speaker cable or not...
Thanks.
Ryan

IMO overly complex for home HT sets ups unless you have money to burn, or you are a serious audiofile with money to burn... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bi-amping ok wow on further reafing and such ther eis a seperate term called Bi wiring which looks just as overly complex ...but hey if you have decnet ewnough speakers or buying them forma decent place they should have pointed to you all the benifits of whatever would suit your set up. http://www.brilliancehifi.co.uk/how-to- ... eakers.htm Kodiak Data Cabling onFaceBook Consult*, Design and Installation Data, TV, Home Theatre/ AV Cabling, Multi Room Audio, IP CCTV and Door Intercoms Ask for a Quote. *DIY DATA Cabling Is Ilegal Re: Bi-wiring speakers? 3Jun 14, 2009 9:56 am Well, having been reading about the difference for few days, I see that there are no advantages in bi-wiring whatsoever. In bi-wiring, you're only running your audio signal from the 'same' source using two different paths. So unless your speaker cable is of no good quality (can't handle very high or very low frequencies), then I don't see any advantages of doing so !! Bi-amping is more convenient and makes lots of sense. In bi-amping, you run two separate cables from two different sources, once goes to the woofer, and the other goes to the tweeter. With bi-amping, the signal gets filtered twice, once in your amplifier/AV receiver and the second time by the electrical components in your speaker. I bought a top of the range Krix speakers few days ago and the front speakers support Bi-amping/Bi-wiring. But since my future AV Receiver (Yamaha 3900) isn't ideal speaker amplifier, I will, however, run two pairs of cables to the front speakers (future proof when I buy a separate power amplifier). I hope that helps.. Here's a good link that explains it pretty well .. http://www.st-andrews.ac.uk/~jcgl/Scots ...
