Browse Forums Home Theatre & Automation 1 Jun 01, 2009 7:20 pm Hi All I am in the process of designing a basic, simple distributed audio system for the new home. I have most of the components sorted, but I need advice and guidance on one aspect; Are any H1 contributors able to recommend a dual source 4 zone audio switch? I want to be able to listen to the footy on the al fresco while the wife listens to her music in any of the other three zones at the same time. It's only a very simple and basic setup, so systems like the Hills or Clipsal offerings are probably OTT, though I am open to suggestions. Thanks for all your help. How do you want to control the sources? Re: Need advice on multi-room audio 3Jun 02, 2009 8:04 pm Rodda Does this device need to have amplifiers (8 of them if you are talking about 4 stereo zones) included in it? No amps necessary, running from sources with amps inbuilt. Quote: How do you want to control the sources? Just four rotary dials on the box, one for each zone, and I can switch between 'Source 1', 'Off', 'Source 2' no need for remote access, it's going to be located in the Family Room, so getting to it is not an issue - I can walk from the Al Fresco or where ever if I want to change what I am listening to. My needs are simple ... honest! Re: Need advice on multi-room audio 4Jun 02, 2009 9:44 pm You need a matrix switch! Best of luck getting a cheap one of those Re: Need advice on multi-room audio 6Jun 03, 2009 8:16 am Perhaps something like this then (which I would consider cheap, really): http://www.radioparts.com.au/ProdView.a ... Have you or someone you know have used it and would recommend over other subfloor options?… 2 7597 I’m not a structural engineer but I’m free. you still need an engineer for the plans. I only have part of your plans, but you seem to have a 850mm drop from the side… 3 9968 |
