Browse Forums Home Theatre & Automation 1 May 07, 2009 9:31 am Hey Guys, Just got an email from my supplier. The Epson TW3000 has just increased in cost quite dramatically. The RRP has remained the same but you will find once current stock are put you will be unable to purchase this unit for under $2800 anywhere. Those who got in early ... well done! Those who didn't this is an opportunity to save a few $$ if you were looking to buy now. I really wish I had gotten an amp before xmas and was wondering if I should wait until the end of the financial year? What do you think? This isn't really hijacking anyway - same topic... Basically, for at least the last 5 years or so the AV Receivers and other items like DVD Players (the 'real' HiFi brands ones, anyway) have not changed in price at all - until the AU$ crashed then they all had to increase their prices for a first time in a long time (as they all pay in US$ for imported stock). They can absorb all of the small fluctuations in the dollar values, but last year's massive drop of around 30% (which in turn increased the cost in US$ by more than that) was way too much to absorb. I'd say the only thing that will lead to it possibly happening again is if there is another big drop in the AU$ - significantly below what it fell to last year...
