Browse Forums Home Theatre & Automation 1 May 02, 2009 1:34 pm This is the story We have this room (layout attached) that we wish to use as the new entertainment room. The space is awkward and impractical at the best of times however is our only option. Deliberation after deliberation have resolved the layout issue and have now resorted to anything, even small building works/modifications to get it right In saying all this, We dont want a conventional home cinema because it just wont work. We are trying to make a room appropriate for most family appliactions; movies, TV, Music and Game Consoles. We are not purists or audiophiles however something that sounds great and is going to last ten years will be most ideal. We went out in all haste and purchased a samsung series 8 46inch (LA46A850), a klipsch Synergy Quintet II 5.1 speaker system and a Denon Reciever, of course from HN In doing a little research after the fact, we discover that the speakers are now discontinued and have been made since 1998, over ten years ago. We still love the sound however that was produced in the showroom, however i cant help but think that better options are out there. So my question is to you all; Can we utilise what we had just purchased to create an awesome experience. Or. Is there going to be a benefit to changing somethings to get the most out of the room space we have. I am most certainly open to every suggestion Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Kitchens are like finger prints, no two are ever the same!! That said, Klipcsh is a very good brand (most movie theatres use them - certainly in the U.S. - and most are likely older than your speakers...) and as that room doesn't look very big at all I think you'll still get joy from that system. You wouldn't get a big kick-arse, front 'tower' speaker setup in there anyway, so save that setup for later when you get a bigger and more suited room... Re: A little help needed; The best option for this room? 3May 03, 2009 11:01 am Thanks for the reply The room is 5x5, the lounges are bigger than the average Do you think the tv would be better placed on the wall behind the long couch? That way the speakers could work within the square instead of an awkward diamond shape? Kitchens are like finger prints, no two are ever the same!!
