Re: Wall Mount LCD cabling. Urgent Help required 4Apr 29, 2009 7:54 am homeishome Thanks IQTech - Also, do the twin audio cables or as you said speaker wires get plugged into TV itself or would that be plugged into extra pair of speakers? speaker cables will be plugged into amplifier, not to the TV homeishome Thanks IQTech - if they bring the audio cable and antenna wall plates to the same height as GPO then that will be better? audio cable should be where they are now. it is OK to have antenna wall plate where it is now as well especially if you are going to have DVD-recorder or PVR. If you install antenna point behind TV and you need to connect DVD-Recorder it still be required to drop antenne cable to DVD-R first and then bring it up to the TV. some electricians do not think at all when they are installing GPO/antenna points at TV level and then when we come to do TV wall mounts, very often these points are exactly where the wall bracket should be installed on the wall. A point I've been making for a while now... IQTech is correct - when the TV gets installed you can still pretty much run any cables from behind the TV inside the wall down to those wallplates below. I'd love to know if those two blue/purple (sorry, a bit colour-blind) cables are speaker cables. If they are, where/what do they run back to? - what function exactly did the sparky think he was running those for? Re: Wall Mount LCD cabling. Urgent Help required 7Apr 29, 2009 1:10 pm Sorry for my ignorance, but are you saying that its ok to have the wall plates down at the bottom. Wont the cables be visible in this way? Re: Wall Mount LCD cabling. Urgent Help required 8Apr 29, 2009 1:19 pm Thanks Rodd Those two blue cables are supposed to be twin audio cables as told to me by the builder. And i really have no idea where they are coming from. I can guess that they might have given a connection to HT Room at the back. But this is a wild guess only thanks Chippy, i hope they have applied sealer but i am doubt to be honest, so i am gonna do this job after handover. 8 16559 If what you describe is correct then the brick wall has been dry lined with villa board.
