Re: Buying a Plasma or LCD? - DO IT NOW 4Apr 18, 2009 9:12 pm We were going to wait until June for the purchase but are now proud owners of a series 8 Samsung 52 inch LCD. It started with the 58 inch plasma for a little more, but we soon found out that size doesnt necessarily matter in the world of TVs. This thing is an absolute beauty. Watching the footy as we speak. We managed to snap it up for 3660 cash. Bargains are out there if you look hard enough. I've got room for it over here, just bring it round Re: Buying a Plasma or LCD? - DO IT NOW 6Apr 21, 2009 11:18 pm Warranty is an issue to consider but I'd balance it against the progress in technology with successive models - i.e. better performance (usually). To me technology/performance and price are key criteria while the length of manufacturer warranty is a supporting but not deal-breaking or deal-making factor, but that's me. Panasonic only give 1 year on their plasmas so if Samsung reduce their warranty to this it's not too much of an issue IMO. As Matt said you can always upgrade the manufacturer's warranty with a 3rd party warranty.
