Browse Forums Home Theatre & Automation 1 Mar 12, 2009 2:53 pm We have decided that we will probably put a door on our Home Theatre room after hand over. Can anyone make a suggestion as to what door would be the best?
thanks www.themaxbuild.blogspot.com forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=20717&start=300 www.leahspaperpassion.blogspot.com Re: Door for home theatre 2Mar 12, 2009 2:56 pm I used double sliding door as I didn't want to take up any floor space. Re: Door for home theatre 3Mar 12, 2009 3:55 pm We just have a standard single door.
The HT is in one corner, with across the entryway the garage, and through the other internal wall the kitchen, so noise travel wont be a problem Re: Door for home theatre 4Mar 12, 2009 3:58 pm We have double doors going into our HT. One opens again the external wall and the other opens against a void so they really don't stick out into the room, if that makes sense.....
Do you not want your builder to do it? Are they going to frame the opening for you? Happy at Home Re: Door for home theatre 6Mar 12, 2009 7:06 pm We are having on our HT room.
Provide 1No. set of double 2040mm high x 820mm wide and 2040mm high x 520mm wide hinged and latched Corinthian Atherton 4 panel doors in lieu of opening to Rumpus. The 820mm wide door is going to be located so that it opens up against the wall and the 520mm wide door opens up in the room so that it does not impact on the space inside the room so much. All up our opening will be 1.34m wide. Re: Door for home theatre 7Mar 12, 2009 8:23 pm Double internal cavity sliders are the way to go.. But thats no good after the fact... You can get doors made up to 1200mm wide... The standard largest size is 2040x920 or 2340x870... After that it is special order, and of course.... Kaching!! Electrical Engineer... Don't hold that against me... And keen owner builder... Mainly the building part!! Re: Door for home theatre 8Mar 12, 2009 10:54 pm We had no room for cavity doors (well only for one massive one, which would've looked ordinary) and we didn't want to take up space with normal doors. Seeing that the Lounge/HT is at the front of the home, we wanted something a nice to compliment the entry/gallery so we're having bi-folds (2 x 720mm) Re: Door for home theatre 9Mar 12, 2009 11:30 pm chuth77 Double internal cavity sliders are the way to go.. pick me ’’Quondo Omni Flunkus Mortati ’’ If the women don't find you handsome, they should at least find you handy. We have asked our builder and we are now looking for a door(s). It's quite a wide doorway so it does present a problem in itself. www.themaxbuild.blogspot.com forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=20717&start=300 www.leahspaperpassion.blogspot.com Re: Door for home theatre 13Mar 14, 2009 6:09 pm chuth77 Double internal cavity sliders are the way to go.. What's the maximum width of a cavity door ? 1200mm ? 920mm sounds good because I'm concerned about the fat wide HT couches Re: Door for home theatre 14Mar 14, 2009 6:54 pm ’’Quondo Omni Flunkus Mortati ’’ If the women don't find you handsome, they should at least find you handy.
