I have two power leads which to all intents and purposes look the same...standard Figure 8 power lead...supplying the same type of device (a new DVICO media player and an older model) with the same amperage and voltage requirements. Except one has one of those plastic bulbs on it and one doesn't...question...are they interchangeable...what does the bulb bit do? Electronics is not my strong suit.... Here's an example of the bulb bit but on a USB cable. it shouldn't really make a difference tho if you start getting any wierd interferance put the stock one back on Kodiak Data Cabling onFaceBook Consult*, Design and Installation Data, TV, Home Theatre/ AV Cabling, Multi Room Audio, IP CCTV and Door Intercoms Ask for a Quote. *DIY DATA Cabling Is Ilegal Re: Question about standard figure 8 appliance power cable 3Mar 12, 2009 7:55 am I've yet to see a ferrite bead on a power cord, but I guess it would serve a purpose. Asssuming it's a ferrite bead, I wouldn't have any concerns about using a normal power cord. All electrical equipment must generate a low level of electromagnetic interference and be able to handle a high level. So it's doubled up. And overboard.
It's like all these, don't use a mobile phone in a hospital or plane type stuff. Re: Question about standard figure 8 appliance power cable 5Mar 12, 2009 9:39 pm Thanks guys...all makes sense...is going to make life easier if I can use two cables rather than plugging and unplugging one...Ta! mmm....donuts Homer Simpson 1956- Links: Site Costs Ready Reckoner | H1 Addiction Medical Advice | Château TDL: The Backyard consider putting in wall WC instead of robe in the same bedroom, then it might be doable to hook up to the existing piping. 4 6633 What we have done in a few theatres ( including my own) is run 2 layers of 13mm gyprock, but sounds insulation especially for the bass is really tricky as a lot of that… 4 2577 Would also like an opinion from anyone that has used xcem over hebel for floors.
