Re: Wiring help please - TDG or anyone else 22Apr 08, 2009 12:04 pm digamma It never ceases to amaze me that there are all these rules on cabling if it is to be a permanent installation (so, usually in the walls) however, there are no regulations regarding them being run around the house on the floor, taped to walls etc. Sure, in the walls there is more chance of an electrical short being caused from ******* cabling, "people" tend to think of the ceapest way to run cables ie taped to walsl and such yet they tend to replace more cables this way and thus costing them more then having it propperly installed that comes down to more of an OH &S risk then even in the home..... that is considerd permanment aswell and this is why ducting is a viable option in alot of places so then is it is then considered permanment. digamma but interference and poor cable running can cause all those other problems if it is installed outside the wall on the floors. nothing to do with interfernce.... there are minimum safe distances for other reasons.. go do the course and find out Kodiak Data Cabling onFaceBook Consult*, Design and Installation Data, TV, Home Theatre/ AV Cabling, Multi Room Audio, IP CCTV and Door Intercoms Ask for a Quote. *DIY DATA Cabling Is Ilegal Re: Wiring help please - TDG or anyone else 24Apr 08, 2009 7:05 pm it is mainly due in case of crush incidents or if some dumb chippie puts screw threw anything hits power cable and then into a data cable thus fore introducing 240V into the phone / network cables thus then sending that back to the exchange... The patch leads have a higher strand count but are thinner in strand diameter making them more flexible and prone to damage. It all comes down to doing it properly. Would you wire your house power in speaker cable? it'll work. Licenced Sparky and Data Cabler If "The Data Guys" is too long to type, TDG will do. A survey must’ve completed by a certified surveyor. This form part of every DA requirement 3 223610 1 372 Thankyou so much 😀 I've decided on White on white for doors and trims, White on white 50% on ceiling and Mt buller for walls. Fingers crossed it will look OK 😀 2 7158 |
